Initial thoughts on Venture4Change (#v4c10 on Twitter)

- Great to see conversations around social enterprise and social finance taking place here in the Waterloo Region, not concentrated in Toronto/Vancouver as it has been in the past couple of years.

- Glad that this event is being hosted in Cambridge. Sometimes Cambridge gets left behind Kitchener and Waterloo, when thinking of the 'Region of Waterloo'.

- Great mix of business, non-profit, government, academia and especially young people at this event.

- Business and generating revenue DOES have a place to play in sustaining social change.

- Having said that, still trying to figure out and understand the 'why' of Hollywood's role when it comes to the BrandAid Project.

- Ben & Jerry's is a company that was built on the principle that businesses are built to address social needs in the community. Double bottom line: revenue and people/community

- Jerry Greenfield is a fascinating and very authentic speaker. I was hanging on to every word as he was telling the story of how Ben & Jerry's came to be.
